The HXGS3 board is the VoIP (Voice over IP) gateway board, that offers the functions of the HG1500 Version 3.0 in HiPath 3550 and HiPath 3350:

• Connection of a local LAN to the HiPath 3000 and the connection with external LAN over the ISDN and DSL interfaces of the HiPath 3000.
• Support of the conventional functions of a ISDN and DSL router with the additional functions of a media gatway for the transfer of voice, fax, and data.
• Forwarding of conversations between IP based Networks (LAND, Intranet, Internet) and cicuit-switched networks (ISDN, PSTN)
